Cattle roaming in grass on ranch in Taylor, NDTaylor, North Dakota
Grain Belt Land & Cattle

A love of the land and of cattle has permeated the four generations of the Gullickson family ranching here in the southwestern area of North Dakota.

The operation is currently run by Glenn and his wife Vicky along with their four grown children and their families.

Homesteaded in the early 1900s by Glenn’s grandfather, the operation carefully raises cattle over the 9,000-acre ranch. Calves are born in the middle of March and put out to pasture with their mothers for grazing as summer arrives. Fall brings the annual roundup when the cattle are brought back home. The family grows most of the hay and feed for the livestock on the ranch. The feed is supplemented with ranch-grown grains such as wheat, barley, and oats along with row crops that include corn and sunflowers.
