What Information is Collected
We collect two types of information about visitors:
Personally Identifying Information: This is any information which can be used to identify an individual such as a name, address, telephone number, email address, employer’s company name and business address, billing and shipping information, and credit card information. When you visit our web site, we will not collect any personally identifying information about you unless you provide it voluntarily. You can visit our web site without telling us who you are or revealing personally identifying information about yourself.
Aggregate and Statistical Data: As you use our site, we may automatically collect certain non-personally identifying aggregate data such as the web pages visited, the date and time you visited our site, the number of bytes of information transmitted to your IP address, the type of browser and operating system you are using, and other non-personally identifying information.
How Information is Collected
Personally Identifying Information: We collect personally identifying information from our web site visitors on a voluntary basis only. Such information may be collected from you if you choose to participate in an interactive feature that requests such information, such as creating a customer or personal profile, login registration, activating the “Contact Us” feature, and the like.
You may have signed up for a Food Service of America service that allows you to establish a personal profile on the web site. In such case, if you desire to change your contact preferences, log into your personal page and update your profile. Your preference change will take effect immediately.
Aggregate and Statistical Data: Cookies and web beacons may be used to collect non-personal information automatically from visitors to our site. A “cookie” is a small data file stored on your computer’s hard drive. Cookies help us in many ways to make your visit to our site more convenient and meaningful; for instance by keeping track of your login name or password, or to “remember” your preferences. Most Internet browsers enable you to erase cookies from your computer hard drive, block all cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Please refer to your browser instructions or help screen to learn more about these options; disabling cookies may affect your use of certain functions on the site.
Use of Information
Personally Identifying Information: We collect and maintain personally identifying information that users voluntarily submit to our web site, and we may use such information for the following purposes:
“Opt out”: We will provide you with the opportunity to unsubscribe or to ‘opt-out’ of having online information used for purposes not directly related to the site at the point at which we ask for the information or when you receive an online requested promotional communication.
Aggregate and Statistical Data: We use this data to help us design and maintain our web site, to identify popular features, to improve the web site usability and for other managerial purposes.
Dissemination of your Information
Food Services of America will not sell or rent personally identifying information collected through this site. Occasionally, we may share personally identifying information with trusted third party vendors and affiliates in order to provide the services you use or to administer our web site. In addition, we may be required to disclose your personally identifying information to a third party such as in the case of the sale of all or a portion of our business or assets, or if required to do so under compulsion of law.
Access and Reporting
You may request a copy of the personally identifying information we have about you by contacting: firstname.lastname@example.org. You may report a possible violation of this Policy by contacting us at: email@example.com.
Food Service of America takes the security of your personally identifying information seriously, and will take reasonable precautions to protect your personal information from unauthorized access. We employ multiple safeguards, including physical, electronic and operational safeguards to reduce the risk of unauthorized access to the personally identifying information that you provide to us. If you use our web applications, you will select a user ID and password. We strongly recommend that you never divulge these to anyone. Communications with secure areas of our web sites are encrypted. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. It may be possible for others to read messages that you send over the Internet, so do not send by electronic mail any information that you would want to keep confidential. While we strive to protect personally identifying information, we cannot warrant the security of the personally identifying information transmitted to or received by us.
Third Party Arrangements
We may contract with third parties to provide various services to us, and may disclose information for use only for purposes of providing those services. For example, we may use suppliers to collect, use, analyze and otherwise process information, to bill or process payments, to fulfill and deliver orders, and perform other functions on our behalf.
We may share aggregated statistical information with our business partners. This information does not include personally identifying information.
We may supply information to third parties, including governmental agencies, if we believe in good faith that we are required to do so under compulsion of law.
If you are a member or participant in an exchange, group purchasing organization, or other similar group, we may be required in our arrangements with that exchange, organization or group to deliver your transaction information and other data, including personally identifying information, regardless of whether the information arises as a result of transactions through the exchange, organization or group or directly with us. You acknowledge that we have no responsibility or liability for any uses that such exchange, organization or group may make with respect to any such data.
In some circumstances, we may decide to reorganize operations or to merge, buy or sell businesses. During the course of these and similar transactions we may disclose personal information to, or receive such information from, prospective counterparties to such transactions. Our practice is to seek contractual restrictions on the uses of information acquired in these types of transactions; however, the restrictions vary in terms of scope and exceptions.
